CARMINA (Carmina María García de León and Mier) was born in Havana Cuba in 1968 and lives in Mexico City. She has conducted studies licenciature drawing Graphic Communication at the Autonomous Metropolitan University , and she studied a postgraduate degree in the visual communication at the University of Havana in Cuba and is a Master of Arts and Sciences for the design to ' Autonomous Metropolitan University with a thesis entitled " Robert Rauschenberg : plastic exploration in contemporary graphic design ."
She created 10 years ago, the art and design workshop Sortilegio, she designs pieces of art-objects ( boxes, niches , small theaters, mirrors) and digital works. Her designs are inspired by the popular and folk traditions of the Mexican culture and other areas with a contemporary vision which is manifested by the quality and originality.
Each piece is a tribute to an image or tribe, an artistic style , a painter or an icon, she takes photos and engravings.
She made special works for the International Film Festival of Guadalajara, The Modern Art Museum of San Francisco, the Museum of Popular Arts and Crafts , The house of the State of Yucatan, among others.
The peaces find there parts in the stores, exclusive galleries and private collections worldwide .
For her most recent project which began in late 2012 she creates works in digital art with different techniques.
For years , the designer presents , sells and promotes her work personally  at " Bazar del Sábado de San Angel ," San Jacinto Plaza , located in the San Angel, declared Cultural Heritage of Mexico City . It is a cultural and tourist center founded in 1960 , where we can find art and crafts from all regions of the country.
